 ~ A Farmers Market Guide ~

A farmers market is a place where farmers sell their products directly to consumers. You can find super fresh produce, meat, eggs, cheeses, honey, and there will be non food venders as well. There is generally a large selection of organic foods. Farmers markets are a great way for farmers to get good prices for their productes and also a great place for consumers and producers to forge relationships and exchange information.
Farmers Market Tips:

1. Learn what grows in your area, and in which season it grows. You can talk to the farmers about what will be coming to market in upcoming weeks.

2. Go early or go late, because markets get super busy and you will have the most choices and the least crowdedness early on. If you go late you will often be able to take advantage of lowered prices.

3. Bring a backpack and cash (small change), because bringing your own bag is eco friendly, and oftentimes the bags the venders offer are flimsy. Most venders will only take cash, and transactions will go easier and faster if you have the right amount of money.

Close to Ray's,the Wicker Park Farmers Market starts on June 14th and ends October 25th.
