Music Mondays: Child Pianists Make Their Mark at Millennium Park

"Music makes life better. It heals, unites and inspires, and it makes us better people."
                  -Lang Lang

The Lang Lang International Music Foundation was started in 2008 by Lang Lang, a Chinese concert pianist who has traveled the world with leading orchestras, but wanted to share his gift with the next generation of musicians. Lucky for Chicago, there will be a free show at the Pitzker Pavilion on August 23, at 4pm, when the Lang Lang International Music Foundation joins up with the Midwest Young Artists for their annual collaborative summer concert.

This evening of music celebration will not only have a preformance by the Midwest Young Artist Symphony Orchestra, but seven young pianists, hand picked by Lang Lang will preform works by Beethoven, Bernstein, Prokofiev, and more.
